Katherine L. McAvoy

Katherine joined the Alice! Health Promotion team as the Manager of Contact Tracing for the Morningside campus in August 2020. Prior to joining the Alice! team, they worked in sexual violence prevention at Dartmouth College and with the New York City COVID-19 Test & Trace Corps. At Columbia, Katherine oversees all aspects of the Morningside contact tracing program and helps to bridge the University and city responses to COVID-19. They approach this work with a trauma-informed and intersectional lens, with the ultimate goal of supporting all members of our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

An Indiana native, Katherine is a long-time East Coast transplant and new-ish New Yorker. When not at work, they enjoy the Brooklyn food scene, socially-distant adventures with friends and family, browsing bookstores, and petting other people's cats.
