Priyanka Shokeen

Dr. Priyanka Shokeen is a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow. Prior to joining Columbia Health, she completed a pre-doctoral internship at Mt. Sinai St. Luke's Roosevelt & West with rotations at Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders, Mt Sinai World Trade Center Health Program and the Psychiatric Recovery Center. She also completed a two-year clinical psychology externship at NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She has experience working in a variety of settings including with inpatient adult and geriatric populations, young adults at Brooklyn College Counseling Center, first responder at Mt Sinai World Trade Center Health Program as well as outpatient clinics at St. Luke's. Additionally, she has received training in inpatient psychological testing with both children and adults as well as diagnostic testing in outpatient settings. She is also a volunteer with Physicians for Human Rights and has conducted several asylum evaluations for survivors of torture and asylum-seekers.

Priyanka's research work has focused on emotional processing during ruptures in therapy. Her clinical interests include working with trauma, racial and ethnic identity issues, cultural barriers to mental health and interpersonal and relationship difficulties.
