Dr. Regina Lara joined Columbia Health in 2008. Prior to Columbia, Regina was the medical director for the Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital, and an attending physician of the Child/Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient unit. She also worked for two years in community mental health on Staten Island.
She earned a B.S. in biology at the University of the Philippines, and her M.D. at the University of the East - Medical School. She then completed a psychiatric residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. Later, further advancing her training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine/Mount Sinai Hospital, where she completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Regina's professional interests include ADHD, especially its more complicated presentations in adulthood, depression, and anxiety. In addition to her work at Columbia, she is on the voluntary faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai, where she supervises outpatient child and adolescent treatment cases.
