Counseling and Psychological Services provides rapid access to clinical services through an initial telephone conversation with a mental health professional that can usually be arranged within one business day of your initial call. However, some circumstances may be too urgent to defer, even for 24 hours. In these urgent situations, you may call Counseling and Psychological Services during our scheduled clinical hours and tell the Patient Services Assistant who takes your call of the urgency of your need. You will be connected with a counselor right away, or we will make other immediate provisions for your care. Alternatively, in the event of this sort of acute psychiatric emergency, you may come directly to Counseling and Psychological Services without an appointment during our scheduled clinical hours.

• St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center Psychiatric Emergency Room at 113^th Street and Amsterdam Avenue is the nearest emergency room to the Morningside campus. It is open 24 hours a day.
• Contact the clinician-on-call at (212) 854-9797. Your concern will be assessed by one of our expert telephone triage specialists and recommendations for care will be provided.

These resources are equipped to assist with psychiatric emergencies. Once the immediate crisis is managed, Counseling and Psychological Services is available to provide a wide range of counseling services.
