Rick O'Keefe

Dr. Rick O’Keefe joined Columbia Health in October of 2004. Prior to joining Columbia Health, Rick spent many years in academic medicine with a focus on increasing the quality and access to care for the urban underserved. He attended the University of California at Davis and received his M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine.  

Rick has served as a leader in two New York City Family Medicine training programs and developed programs to care for marginalized adolescents in school-based and street settings. Much of his publications and presentations have explored the doctor-patient relationship, gay and lesbian health, men’s issues and adolescents/young adults. He has completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine and is now working toward becoming a NY state certified mediator.
