Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist
Larkin Callaghan joined Alice! Health Promotion in 2010. A native of San Francisco, Larkin has been a New Yorker for nearly four years while pursuing her doctorate degree. She is interested in reproductive health and in gender disparities in health care and access, particularly in regard to HIV/AIDS and STIs issues.
She was first drawn to public health after studying in Cuba as an undergraduate and observing a foreign healthcare system and its challenges and successes. Her academic pursuits include health program design and evaluation, specifically examining coordinated social media programs and their uses as education platforms for adolescents, and sex and alcohol/drug education to promote healthy and protective behaviors.
In addition to working with adolescents and young adults, Larkin loves running and hiking, cooking and nutrition education, as well as being an equestrian.
