Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist
Jackie Blachman-Forshay joined Columbia Health in 2011. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the Silver School of Social Work at New York University. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
In addition to her work with Alice!, Jackie is a research-staff member at the Center for Health, Identity, Behavior, and Prevention Studies at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, where her work focuses on sexual risk-taking and substance use among young gay and bisexual men. Previously, Jackie interned at Harlem United and counseled clients with HIV/AIDS with co-morbid substance use and mental health diagnoses. Her research interests include HIV prevention among vulnerable populations and living/coping with disease.
